Your first stop is the famous Bhowali fruit market — a vibrant roadside bazaar renowned across Uttarakhand for its fresh mountain produce: apples, pears, plums, apricots, and local preserves. Pick up some fruit for the journey and soak in the lively morning atmosphere.

Bhimtal Lake & Village
The lake with an island
A short detour brings you to Bhimtal — a serene lake larger than the famous Naini Lake, yet far less crowded. At its centre sits a small island housing an aquarium. Stroll along the lakeside promenade, enjoy the reflections of the surrounding hills on the still water, and have a cup of chai at one of the lakeside stalls. Your guide will share the mythology of Bhimtal, named after the Pandava warrior Bhima from the Mahabharata.

Kainchi Dham — Temple Darshan & Ashram
The heart of the journey
Arrive at Kainchi Dham — the spiritual centrepiece of the day. Enter the ashram compound through its distinctive red gateway and feel the immediate shift in atmosphere. The main Hanuman temple is adorned with marigold garlands and the sound of bhajans fills the air. Visit the samadhi shrine of Neem Karoli Baba, where devotees from around the world come to offer prayers. Receive prasad, sit in the temple courtyard in quiet contemplation, and if timing allows, attend the midday aarti.
